Well it’s 2012 now, and planning for a 2012 Founders Day Festival has begun, and we need your help in a few places.
Sustainable Seattle is our fiscal sponsor for the 2012 event, this sponsorship allows us to accept tax deductible donations for the event, head there now if you like and toss some cash Belltown’s way. There’s a link on the front page of our website. SeattleFounders.com
The first place is we need a party planner, we’d like to have two pre-festival fund raising events, one an auction and the second a ball. Both of the events are fundraisers for the festival. If you are a party planner, know one, or would like to start being one… email firstname.lastname@example.org
Naturally we’ll need help on the days of the event, and it’s never to early to sign up. There will be sign up sheets popping up around the neighborhood, there’s one now at Bedlam Coffee on 2
nd and Bell St.
The 2012 Event is shaping up like this. We are planning and getting a permit for a main stage again, and space for 88 vendors. One huge difference this year is the vendors will vend for FREE, yup free…the website and Facebook will have have sign up and application fee info. Vendors will be juried into the event, with criteria as follows Belltown creators first, then Seattle, then surrounding Seattle, then western Washington, etc etc…
The history tent will return, bigger this time, with even more stuff to learn about early Seattle, and of course the founders themselves, all the guys and gals from the first event, plus a couple new early Seattle Celebs, like Lou Graham for instance…
