Superhero Arrested

The following article was published on MSNBC October 10,2011. I trust the super hero mentioned is not the same character that has been seen tagging along with the Belltown Citizens on Patrol? If he is apparently, according to the article, he has disregarded the organizations policy of none involvement. There is no place in our community for a “super hero.” The only weapon that should ever be employed is a cell phone. Our police do respond, even if our prosecutors do not.  The job of the citizen is to report the crime, monitor if possible and then provide assistance by supplying information to the authorities not lending physical  assistance and  escalating the situation.

I trust the BCOP will exclude Mr. Jones from their ranks and continue their community watch without  him or others of the same mindset. We need an involved  citizenry not armed militia.

Seattle’s self-proclaimed superhero known as Phoenix Jones was arrested early Sunday and accused of assaulting several people with pepper spray. Jones has now posted video of the incident online.

Police say the victims were attacked after leaving a nightclub.

Officers arrested the 23-year-old. He was released on bond and is due to be arraigned Thursday.

The seattlepi.com reports the man who wears a black and yellow costume was trying to break up a fight. Video shot by a friend shows he used the spray after he was attacked.

Jones released the video of the incident on his Facebook page Monday. You can watch it here.

After the pepper spraying, Jones and others are seen in an altercation with several people. Durng this, a car is seen apparently striking a person on the street. Jones and his crew chase after it on foot. Later, the altercation between Jones and the other people continue.

Jones and his crew eventually run to the nearby ferry terminal to wait for police, but they are kicked out by security.

When police arrive, one person heard off camera, apparently an officer, says “We’re about to arrest the whole bunch of you and clean things up. We’re tired of this game.”

Jones also posted this message on his Facebook page Monday:
