Save the Date: The Innkeeper is Throwing a Party for Belltown Local and You’re Invited

The Innkeeper

2510 1st Avenue (Between Wall & Vine)

Sunday June 3rd

4:00 to 6:00pm

In lieu of giving Belltown Local subscribers a deal for small business week, the owners at The Innkeeper (Chris Linker, Judy Boardman and Chef Brian Durbin also own Black Bottle) have kindly offered to throw us all a patio party! Come and join other Belltown Locals for free food and drink. The Innkeeper will be smoking and grilling delicious meats and veggies on the back patio, so grab your Red Solo Cup and get ready to mingle with your fellow neighbors. It’s all free!

The Innkeeper opened at the end of November at the site of the former Marco’s Supper Club. Taking a page from Don Quixote, the owners have built a little sanctuary in the neighborhood not unlike the inns that dotted the landscape in Cervantes’s novel. Those fictional Spanish inns gave much-needed respite to the weary hero on his quest to revive chivalry. The concept translates very well  for those of us in Belltown looking for a gentle place to hang out and enjoy a little civility. Rest assured. Tilting at windmills is not a menu option.

Hike back to the patio and you’ll find a hidden oasis of backyard greenery and fencing that just begs for a sunny outdoor cookout. So let’s all get our wishing caps on and manifest a bright sunny afternoon come Sunday June 3. But even if it does rain, we can take shelter in the warm and cozy interior (no windmills in site). On tap will be beer from Two Beers Brewery out of Sodo and Arca Nova’s Coheita Harvest Vinho Verde (it’s a blanco for those of us not familiar with Portuguese wine). All that’s required is that you write your name on the Red Solo Cup and introduce yourself to three people you don’t know. And tell your friends.
