Open Circle Theaters Ajax – Meet the Adapter!

This month Open Circle Theater is producing a wonderful show called Ajax.  One of the greatest things (and there are many) about this play is that Open Circle Theater’s own Todd van der Ark adapted the Greek Tragedy that is Ajax into a layered and compelling piece.  The director, Linda Lombardi,  has taken Todd’s story and made it  relevant by taking today’s headlines of war and bringing it back to being human – we are all human and war, no matter what it is for, takes its toll.

On Saturday, there is a VIP event that, in addition to a ticket to see Ajax, you will get one on one time with Open Circle Theater’s Artistic Director, Gary Zinter AND a discussion with Todd van der Ark, the adapter.  Starting at 6pm, come to visit Open Circle Theater and join us for drinks and snacks, a talk with Todd and Gary, a tour of the best black box in town, preferred seating (you get to get in before anyone else!) and a drink during the show (yes, we have a bar – and it rocks!).  The ticket price is extremely reasonable at $35 – which is only $15 more than a regular ticket and you get all kinds of special treatment.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am the managing director at Open Circle Theater and I’m biased.  The thing is, I would love this play even if I weren’t – it holds an extremely close place to my heart for many reasons.  I have been through tragedy like Tecmessa and I relate – I’ve seen madness in someone that is close to me.  The actors in this show are amazing – and they are among some of the best in Seattle’s fringe theater.

Come support local theater and see a  wonderful show and get some very important person treatment on Saturday.  You can find tickets on Brown Paper Tickets at

We’d love to meet you!
