Sure, you might think chili is best served on, well, chilly days – but let’s face it; we’re in the PacNW. Our version of summer is just barely beginning and chili is great food anytime of the year.
The people behind the Seattle Founders Festival thought so, too. They decided it might be fun to see who can make Belltown’s Best Chili – all while raising funds for the upcoming 2nd Avenue festival, taking place on August 11 and 12.
The Chili Cook-Off starts at 6:00p.m. tonight and runs through 9:00p.m. Eight great Belltown restaurants will be participating. Here’s the breakdown:
Admission is just $20 (kids 12 and under are free), and tickets can be purchased online or at the door. With your admission, you get 2oz of chili from each participating restaurant (that’s 16 ounces of chili!) and two drink tickets good for Hilliards Beer (try the Saison, yum!). Additionally, free soda and lemonade as well as additional beer and wine will be available for purchase.
How will the winner be chosen? Chili tasters can vote for their favorite chili by filling the donation jar next to the chili they prefer. All proceeds go right to Seattle Founders and fund the Seattle Founders Festival.
The Seattle Founders Festival Chili Cook-Off will take place at the Guest Room/Suyama Peterson Deguchi, located at 2326 Second Avenue Seattle, WA 98121. For more information about the Seattle Founders Festival, visit the website, Facebook or Twitter.
