I have literally sat here for 10 minutes trying to think of a witty punchline for this story, but…. they were all shitty.
Belltown businesses and residents will be able to take advantage of a new Seattle Public Utilities special cleanup service being offered in that neighborhood starting September 15, 2010.
Residents and businesses that come across human waste such as feces, vomit or urine on accessible outdoor public or private property can call Cleanscapes to have the offending material removed and the surfaces cleaned. There is no cost associated with the service but it is limited to that part of the Belltown neighborhood between Lenora St. and Denny Way and Western Ave and 4th Ave.
Residents and businesses can call Cleanscapes at (206) 250-7500 to request a special cleanup.
Please be certain to provide the exact address and your phone number. Cleanup crews are available seven days a week from 6 am to 2 pm. Requests made outside those hours will be handled within two hours of the start of the next shift. This service is for human waste only and dog owners are still required to pickup after their pets.
This special cleanup service is part of a pilot program that will last through September 15, 2011.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this program, please contact Tom Gannon, Seattle Public Utilities at (206) 684-3453 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
