Myrtle Edwards and Centennial Parks will once again be the location for the self proclaimed worlds largest gathering for the decriminalization of marijuana. The 22nd Annual Hempfest is being called equal parts “protestival” and victory celebration. It should turn out to be one of the best yet as this will be the first time the event is being held since Washington Initiative 520 and Colorado Amendment 64 passed last November. I have personally seen lots of stories about this years event. One of the more recent being that the Seattle Police Department, with funding from the Seattle Police Foundation, will be handing out 1,000 bag’s of Doritos with an informative stickers linking to the SPD’s Marijwhatnow? page.
Below you will find the official Hempfest 2013 Flier as well as links to the Friday press conference agenda and a letter that Hempfest sent to the President. I also linked to a previous story here on MyBelltown.com from the Republican Liberty Caucus of King County about a booth they will have at Hempfest. So if you are looking for something to do this weekend, head on over to listen, learn, enjoy, and whatever else might come up. You might even run into other Belltowner’s in the estimated 85,000 daily attendees.
